I will remember it forever. My Mom and I left on Thursday early in the morning. We got to LA before lunchtime and met Emily from GenerationOn. We checked into our hotel room and checked out our surroundings for the next 4 days. The pool was really nice. But, guess what I forgot my darn ears! The new kids I was meeting for the first time learned all about what a cochlear implant was. They thought it was funny when Mommy said to me before I went on the roller coaster in Santa Monica to take my ears off. My new friend just looked at me, then he said, what the heck????

On Friday all 10 Hasbro Community Hero's spent a whole day together learning about each other and doing media training. It was a long day but very interesting and fun. It felt like I knew these other kids for way longer than a day. We enjoyed dinner together with some of the kids and their parents.

Saturday we toured Ave of the Stars and went swimming before it was time to get ready for the Block Party. That block party was incredible! I met so many TV stars as well as movie stars. It was very hot. I also spent time with Brian Goldner, CEO of Hasbro. You could tell he really loved the day too. He loved hearing all the different stories and how we were all so different and what our service projects were all about.

GenerationOn did a really nice recap of Saturday. I have attached it for you to take a peek at. You can tell I really enjoying talking when I get started. I have many pictures on my facebook page also.
There is something special about belonging to a small community where one town turns into the next on the very same street.

Living in a small town has both good and bad. If you are a private person you might as well live somewhere else. In small towns everyone know mostly everyone and if they don't someone else does. On a positive note a small offers love and compassion from people you don't even know personally but they are still part of you.

Today so many neighbors stopped to hear Morgan tell her sweet story of what Morgan's Magical Ears is. These new friends were so empathetic! They liked hearing how Morgan's deafness turned into these buckets of love she shares with CHOP kids and other sick children. We would love nothing more than to see Morgan not have to deal with batteries that run out at the worst time or having to spend time getting her implants waterproofed so she can go swimming or learning to be her on advocate already in elementary school. But these things have all turned Morgan into the most beautiful, caring, tender hearted 8 year old you can imagine. Morgan takes nothing for granted. She loves making people smile and will always be there with a sincere hug when she sees one needed. The hearing sense she was born without was given back to her twofold in having a sense that most don't have. She can sense when her love is needed and she has no problem giving it. She has had to be around adults from 6 weeks old and you can tell if you have had the chance to talk with her she is very comfortable around adults. She is an 8 year old but a very mature young lady.

Thank you to our old friends that bought funny cakes today. To our new friends, we welcome you to our world of MAKING SMILES HAPPEN!

Our next CHOP drop off will be Santa's sleigh helping Morgan deliver lots and lots of Woofi Christmas Stockings!
I spent time at the beach, went 4 wheeling and to Bushkill Falls with Poppop. I went with my Grandmom and Grandpop to their place in New Jersey. I even did some zip lining.

Morgan's buckets received some very nice donations this summer from two awesome churches. Faith UMC in Lititz and Pennsburg UCC in Pennsburg. We also received lots of loose change from some of Morgan's followers. This Woofi Bucket ministry is truly blessed! We are fast approaching 400 buckets donated. The children that get these buckets are all so special to us. Just today Morgan got to hand deliver one to a little girl getting her second implant. Hopefully they will become friends. We can definitely tell God has his mighty hand in this bucket project. So many amazing things happen that we know aren't just coincidences. To see God working is so incredibly awesome.

Morgan has returned to Penn View for 2014-2015. She is honored to have received a generous scholarship from AG Bell! This scholarship is hard to get. You need to not only be a good student but you have to go above and beyond. Last year Morgan volunteered on Thursday nights at Operation Backpack stuffing backpacks with food for needing children. We are anxious to see what she does this year.
I had to share a picture of my silly sister Rylee. She is my best friend. When she isn't home I always want to go pick her up so we can play babies. Rylee will bring me my ears in the morning so she can wake me up. We love to watch Frozen together. I just love having Rylee as my sister! God gave me one silly best friend.

Some might wonder about my hearing verses Rylee's. I am deaf due to connexin 26 and 30 gene mutation. Rylee also carries the 26 connexin gene. She is the same as my mommy. My daddy carries the 30 gene and together the 26 and 30 made me deaf. Rylee only carries the one gene so she could also have a deaf child someday if her husband would have the 26 gene. Or even crazier if her husband would be the same as my Dad. That would be like hitting the lottery but who knows, I would say I am the jackpot my Mom and Dad got.

Genetics are very hard to understand but it is amazing what two things in your DNA can do and maybe can not do to make you who you are. Maybe someday I will have to study this. For now, I am just me, Morgan, the happy little bucket giver! Have a fun day and if you have a sister or brother I hope you love them as much as I love mine.

And Happy Birthday to my Ear!As many of you know I have been as busy as the Easter bunny. On Wednesday I delivered over 120 funny cakes! I enjoyed spending a couple minutes with most of you. I wish I could have seen everyone.

On Thursday we finished packing the buckets for CHOP. I had to put stickers in the books and I also wrote my favorite bible verse in the book this time. I couldn't pick a short easy book to write, I had to pick Deuteronomy. We loaded the car up Thursday night so we could be at CHOP by 7:30.

I was disappointed when we got to the hospital though. They weren't working. Hopefully when I go in July I will get to see my nurses and their smiling faces.

Finally, Tomorrow is a very very special day. Happy Birthday to my ear!!
I am going to tell you all about it. Mommy and I started out by picking Mommom up at 6:00am. They needed coffee so first stop was Dunkin. We had no traffic into Philly and arrived at 7:00. Perfect timing because we had two buckets to deliver. Our first bucket is actually there waiting for its new Mommy. Zoe is arriving to CHOP on 4/23. Our second bucket went to the cutest 3 year old boy. Kellan had heart surgery this week and wasn't feeling too good yet. Our little tiger was crying when I walked in. That made us all cry with him. But, when he saw Woofi he smiled!

We left their room and headed for my kidney ultrasound. After that we had a 9:30 appt with my surgeon. I was nervous because the radiologist saw some white spots which mean stones. My Dr said everything looked good and he didn't think those white spots are anything to worry about. I do not have to go back for a year! Yippee!

Next stop.......Starbucks, my favorite place for a chocolate chip frappachino.

Onward to my family at the Clarke School for the Deaf! I love these teachers. I am where I am today because of them. They taught me how to listen, hear and speak. When you get an implant you don't just wake up and be able to hear. It takes lots and lots of therapy! I stopped to give them a copy of the book I wrote. It was a special day at Clarke. It was grandparents day. I talked to all of them about the journey I have been on and gave them hope for the little ones that belong to them. They had to leave knowing their children are in good hands at Clarke.

It was such a great day from start to finish!

Have you ever read the book called, "Have You Filled A Bucket"? If you haven't it is one of our favorite books. When the bucket project first started we included that book inside each bucket. A couple times the publisher actually donated all of them. This book is about every person having a bucket and each person can fill buckets by making people happy. You can also be a bucket dipper and do not so nice things and empty other peoples buckets.

Morgan has a bucket that is totally overflowing right now!!!!! This past week was awesome with people filling Morgan's bucket. It all started last weekend with the photographer giving almost 200.00. We get home and she received a 100.00 donation in the mail. On Friday night Morgan's mommy went to a painting class and some of the people at the class said, Oh, we follow Morgan's Magical Ears on facebook! They were excited to meet her in person. Morgan left there with a 20.00 donation. When we got home Friday evening a car pulls up in front of our house and another bucket filler was there to give Morgan all the coloring books and crayons for the Easter drop off! Saturday morning Morgan bucket started to overflow. She went to the bank to cash in the change that was donated to her bucket project. Over 113.00 worth of change that was all donated by the most awesome bucket fillers in the world. Morgan is so thankful for everyone helping make her bucket project a success!

Funny Cakes are being delivered next Wednesday and Thursday. Thank you to those that ordered these yummy sweets for your Easter weekend.

Have a wonderful week and remember be a bucket filler not a bucket dipper!

Love, Morgan and friends!!!!

All the 2nd graders at Pennview did our play last week. We did it for our grandparents on Thursday. On Friday night we did it for the public. The play was Jonah and everyone loved it.

On Saturday Rylee and I got our pictures taken with live chicks and bunnies. The very talented Joanna from Bountiful Babies in Center Valley did them. Joanna has a special place in our hearts. Joanna heard of Morgan's bucket project and decided to pay it forward herself. Joanna gave a portion of all her spring photo shoots to Morgan's bucket project. This project has done so much more than make chikdren smile. Heck, that alone would be enough. This project brings out such good in people. We came home from the photo shoot and found a crisp 100.00 bill in the mail box. It came all the way from Florida!

It is so awesome to see God working!

Morgan sold 125 funny cakes. It will be fun to see all the people when we deliver them.

Bucket day is coming up! Morgan just finished writing her own book to put with the buckets. Hopefully we will find a publisher that might like to donate the printing of some books. The book tells Morgan's story of how the bucket project came to life with lots of special pictures.

Today is CHOP Doctor Day. We honor Dr John Germiller, our hero! He gave Morgan the miracle of hearing!

It is me, Morgan. I am all better!!!!! I go back to CHOP on April 11th for a post surgery check up.
I feel really good and am drinking a ton of water. Maybe I should have told Mommy to make it green for St Patricks Day today.

I am starting to get by buckets ready for my Easter drop off. On Saturday I went to Hobby Lobby and found some neat stuff that I think kids will like. I was able to do this shopping trip because a friend of Mom mom's and now a friend of mine too, gave me all their change they saved up. I found neat cups that each have three pictures in for the little kids to color and make their own special cup. We have to meet up with Woofi's Mommy and Daddy soon to pick up a big box of Woofi's. As everyone knows that is the best present in the whole bucket. This is a fun part of my projec. It is picking out so many neat things for the buckets. We have been asked if I need help. The answer is a big fat YES! We would love to receive your donations for the buckets. We put things in them like crayons, coloring books, bubbles, snacks, (but not chocolate or peanut butter things) water, juice boxes. I make at least 6 buckets that are just for babies each time we drop off. In the baby buckets are sippy cups, Gerber snacks, anything in the baby aisle. Sometimes I have a hard time thinking what little boys like though. We don't put candy or sweets in the buckets though.

I am doing a fundraiser right now. We are selling funny cakes for 8.00 each and they will be delivered the Thursday before Easter. So far I have sold 75 of the 100 we planned to sell. Thank you to all my new funny cake eaters! For those that don't know what a funny cake is, it is a Pa Dutch recipe. It is a regular pie crust with chocolate on the bottom and vanilla cake on the top. I think it is called funny cause when you bake it you put the cake batter on top of the pie shell and the choc syruppy part on top and then when it is baked the chocolate goes to the bottom and the cake is on top.

As for school, as usual, I LOVE IT! Everything is awesome at school. I have grandparents day coming up next Thursday and then Friday the whole second grade is doing a play at night called Jonah. I love bible stories. Yesterday in Sunday School we learned about the blind man that Jesus put mud on his eyes and he was able to see. My miracle came to me thru Jesus too but mine wasn't mud it was an awesome surgeon, Dr John Germiller that Jesus gave a gift to him and he was able to give it to me. Miracles happen every day and you can tell anyone you know that my being able to hear is a miracle from God!

Have a fun week everyone!
It was a horrible week. I was in so much pain like I never imagined. I couldn't even get upstairs til Friday. When I had to go to the bathroom I just prayed and prayed. It just hurt so terribly bad. On Sunday night Mommy and I pulled the stent out. I think I screamed so loud I could have heard myself without my implants on!!!!!!! Mommom and I prayed while Mommy pulled the stent out. It felt so good to get that out of me. I have had a stent inside of me since February 6th.

I have be given so many get well cards and gifts that it is now my time again to pay it forward.
I am so thankful for all the love that was given to me. So many Sunday school classes from all over the area took the time to make me really nice cards. There are so many good and God loving people in my life. God is so good to me!!! My Pennview family has supported me beyond our wildest dreams. I am so happy to call them FAMILY! Once again God is using me to do his work. I along with the help of my family are making children smile. I think when kids smile adults do too.

Tomorrow my pay it forward project will be taking place in Pottstown, PA. I have learned that there is a program called Operation Backpack that provides food to children in need. These children would go without food the entire weekend. This program provides help to 58 children in this local school district. The children pick up a back pack on a Friday and bring it back to school on the following Monday. If this organization didn't do this there would be 58 very hungry children. I am going to be dropping off things for their back packs tomorrow and then sometime in the near future I am hoping to help pack the back packs on a Wednesday night.

Thank you again for all the love that has been poured on me during February!

We didn't want to take a chance of missing this day.

Morgan arrived at CHOP at 11:30. They were very delayed and Morgan didn't get into surgery until 4:30. She was her delightful self and sang "let it go" from Frozen on her way into the OR. She puts up a good front cause this little girl was very anxious.

Surgery lasted about 2 hours. When the surgeon came out he said the Diverticulum wasn't there at all. They found that there are no pockets in Morgan's kidney. They told us her kidney is deformed. The blessing in all of this is that usually kidneys that are deformed don't work correctly. Morgan's kidney is doing everything it is supposed to do. Blood and urine are both flowing nicely. They said if this was know ahead of time neither surgery would have been needed. While they were in there they did removed 3 stones. Two 4 mm ones and one 5 mm one. It is now Friday and Morgan is still in a lot of pain. Hoping she turns the corner today. We thought she would have been back to school yesterday but she still has trouble walking and is in alot of pain when using the bathroom. When we do the bathroom we just hold hands with her and pray the entire time!

The urologist feels that Morgan will always have kidney stone issues as it is genetic. We can do things to help prevent problems like drinking lots and lots of water. They would like to see her drink 1 1/2 liters of water per day and at least 8 oz of lemonade. This is something that she needs to work on. But if it keeps these stones away that will be a plus.

All the things Morgan has been thru she has always been such a strong little girl. This past surgery was the first time in her life we have heard her express the question, "why is all this happening to me?" Something to work on but she has such a strong faith this won't take too long. Pennview and her teacher Mrs Smith will help us with this also. We can't express in words the appreciation we have for Morgan's school and it's teachers. Morgan being able to attend a stellar school like Pennview is a blessing in itself!

Hoping for a warm happy spring weekend. We have lots of Easter Woofi buckets to start getting ready. Easter will be here in no time!!!!!

Love to all,
Morgan has had a tough week She had a very upset stomach when she woke up and was given medicine for that. She got home about 9PM. Thursday night went ok and even Friday during the day she was "ok". She does have stent pain but was under control.

Friday night she went down hill. She really started getting pain that was hard to control. The pain made her throw up along with belly pain from the stent. It was a long night for her and mommy. She rested all weekend and by Monday felt ok to go to school. Tuesday she wakes up with fever and we called CHOP. They wanted her to be seen at her pediatrician for a urine culture. Morgan is now on an antibiotic for a bladder infection. The official culture won't be back til Thursday but in the meantime they are treating her for one. It is pretty common to get a bladder infection from a kidney surgery. IF there is an infection it will need to be gone in order for the Dr to operate on Tuesday the 18th. Morgan was still running a fever Wednesday night of 103. Who knows, maybe it is just a virus.

So, for now, the plan is Tuesday the 18th the second surgery will take place and hopefully they will get the stone/stones and the pocket in her kidney removed. From what we have been told another stent will be placed after the surgery and in about a week or so that one will be surgically removed.

Today is Thursday the 13th and we have a snow day here in PA. This is a much needed day of rest for Morgan. A little gift from God to Morgan.

If anything changes we will update her blog.
One more thing.......2nd Bucket of the year was presented to a little boy named Elliott having ear surgery next Monday at CHOP Chalfont. He is already in love with his Woofi. The CHOP nurses will be surprised he is coming with a Woofi instead of leaving with one. We are sure those nurses will know where that Woofi came from though. Say a prayer for Elliott's speedy recovery.
Ok, we are going to try and explain what is going on with Morgan.

The medical term for this is called calyceal diverticulum.
It is when your kidney isn't smooth and has little pouches or pockets.

Stones like to hide and grow in these little pockets they would like to call home.

They were hoping to go evict these free loaders yesterday but the
instruments they need to do this fishing didn't fit because of Morgans
size. Not because she is a 30 lb peanut but because of her inside parts.

Plan B happened and a stent has been placed to make these parts large
enough for his instruments to fit. This will happen in approx. 2 weeks.
We are hopeful this will work. Dr said 99% sure but you just don't know. We will have our prayer warriors all over this!!

Final surgery would be to remove the stent.

Only thing for sure right now is #2 surgery will take place in 2 weeks
and we will give you the date on here when we receive it.

Morgan was feeling better by 10 last night. She can feel the stent inside her so pray she can deal with this annoyance.

Love to all and many many thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, cards and gifts.

We are all very anxious for this surgery. We just want it to be OVER and done with.
We will be calling CHOP Wednesday after 3:30 for our arrival time for Thursday. They operate youngest to oldest so we will see how this amazing 7 year old falls in line that day.

We want to take a minute and thank each and every one of you that has sent cards and gifts for Morgan. She will be so surprised and I think it will keep not only her mind off the surgery but all of ours.

Morgan has the biggest fan club she could ask for from Upper Perkiomen Middle School. You can tell they are so proud of her and what she does. She is like their baby sister and now that she is hurting they have come up to bat for her. They each made awesome cards for her with cute riddles in them. They are also in the process of making a box so that all the cards and gifts can accompany Morgan to the hospital. We really can't thank everyone enough. Just the prayers alone are so sacred to us.

Christmas is over and I am back to school.

I am scared to death for my upcoming surgery!!!!! Sometimes I can't help it and I am not so brave as so many of you think. It is hard for me to talk about it even though I know I should. I have talked to my teacher and the kids in my classroom. My class has all started praying for me. Mommy has me on the pray list at our church. Those people really know how to do it!

Many people say, well she has been thru so many surgeries and I should be a professional. You know what the problem is? I have been thru so many surgeries and I know what happens and that is why I am scared. I need all the prayers I can get. My Mommom and I always pray for God to wrap his big strong arms around me and let me feel his presence.

Today I found out about a little girl that also needs some prayers and help. We have a little money since our next bucket donation isn't until Easter and we sent it to her. She is the same age as me, she is blind and deaf and has many other issues. We are helping to get her a suit that is only made in Sweden. Some day we hope this suit allows her the ability to walk.

The nice person doing the fundraiser for this little girl sent me a note today and I want to share it with you. I know some of you are my biggest supporters.
He actually works on Saturdays at CHOP. Needless to say Morgan was very upset before, during and after the appt. We will be looking at 2 scenarios. Best case scenario is when they start surgery they see the camera and tools fit in her little body parts and they have no trouble getting either a 6mm lone stone or they find a cyst filled with lots of small stones. They could do another cat scan now to see if its a cyst or one stone but we opted not to put her thru under test when surgery has to be performed regardless. If its a cyst they will also burn it so that it only has a 2% chance of coming back.

Next scenario would be the issue of the camera not fitting and a stent would need to be put in and surgery would happen at a later date. This way she would most likely need 3 surgeries and we all know Morgan has been thru this too much already.

On a brighter note Christmas vacation has been wonderful. Today we are going to Disney on Ice.

Love to all!Morgan's Mommyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17282850463432780377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3714134787860260273.post-58854616947386916962013-12-12T07:21:00.002-08:002013-12-12T07:21:33.222-08:00Who says Friday the 13th is bad luck?

Tomorrow marks the 200th stocking or sand bucket delivered to the children at CHOP!

Friday December 13, 2013 will be a special day for many children at CHOP. Morgan is hoping to make many children smile when they get their stocking with Woofi inside it.

Morgan has had to work harder than ever to make this donation happen this time around. She made an extra donation this year in October which put her behind on gathering enough money to buy the Woofi's. She put the word out and received the needed help from her supporters. Morgan is so thankful for the outpouring support she has received. She wouldn't have been able to make this happen without everyone! The kind man from the Lehigh Valley purchased all the stockings for her. A man she has never even met. There are so many angels among us!! We don't think some of our helpers know how truly thankful Morgan is for their undying support.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your wonderful families!

Love and Hugs,
Mom and Dad took me to CHOP this morning for an ultrasound of that kidney at 11:00, and then after that we met with the urologist. When we were done with him I went to Audiology for my yearly mapping.

I don't have great news to tell you today. My mommom could tell right away I was a little upset when I called her on my way home.

I am getting ready to deliver a big pile of Christmas stockings to CHOP and here I will be a patient again. :( I will have to work fast getting these stockings made and the brownies baked to get more money to by the Woofi's.

My urologist has a plan. It goes like this...... He is meeting on December 4th with the other doctors he works with to discuss my case. I am not sure why that is. After they talk the next step will be to put a stent inside of me and leave it there for a little bit (maybe a week or two) After this stretches things around Mommy and Daddy will have to take me back to CHOP in Philly to have surgery. The kidney stone is 6mm and needs to be surgically removed. I am really not smiling when I tell you this.
We also dropped off the stone I passed the other week at the lab today so they can see what it is made of.

Please keep me in your prayers right now!

Love to all!!!

The first semester is over at school. Morgan did an awesome job along with her teacher cause it takes two to pull off a good semester.

Last week for a couple days Morgan was complaining she didn't feel right. Then on Monday she had such pain so off to the Dr we went. The Dr thought she could have appendicitis so he sent her to the ER. At the ER it was diagnoised that Morgan's kidney stone wasn't behaving anymore. When Morgan was 16 months old she had a kidney infection. At that time we found out that she had a kidney stone but it wasn't causing any problems and would be left alone. She sees a urologist for follow up every two years. The hospital did an ultrasound and it was found that she had 3 stones. One of the stones was causing a blockage. Morgan was sent home with a strainer and later on Monday night she did end up passing this stone. We go down to CHOP on November 25th for another ultrasound and visit to the urologist. The one stone is 4mm and I am not sure what the 2nd stones size is.

This past weekend we visited Gaylord's on the Potomac for a Christmas weekend. We went thru the ICE tent. This tent is 9 degrees and you have to wear special coats to go thru it. It was amazing to see everyting made out of ice. Even sliding boards. People come in from China to build this masterpiece every year. It was totally amazing!

We are getting ready to make our Christmas delivery of stockings to CHOP. We have to bake some brownies and make some money for this to happen. We have enough crayons and markers and we also have enough money to buy the stockings. We are going to be baking up a storm so we can make sure there is a special Woofi puppy for each child. Wish us luck, this could be hard this time.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Love Morgan and family.Morgan's Mommyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17282850463432780377noreply@blogger.com0
